“Opaque” announcement of £250 million for Horizon association leaves unanswered questions, say policy experts
Research policy experts are demanding clarity over how the UK government plans to cover the remaining cost of association to Horizon Europe after it announced only around a quarter of new money needed to pay for the £1 billion fee.
On 1 April the government announced an extra £250 million to help pay for UK membership in the European Union’s €95 billion (£80bn) R&D programme, and it said it would repurpose the £400m previously announced for government priorities.
