Shadow higher education minister suggests English regulator should look at best practice on mental health

The Office for Students has “not given enough priority” to the issue of mental health in universities, shadow higher education minister Matt Western has said. 

Speaking at a Labour Party conference fringe event on student mental health on 9 October, Western (pictured) suggested that the English higher education regulator should play a more active role in ensuring universities are providing support for students with mental health issues.
