Labour conference: Chi Onwurah says party is looking at harnessing universities to drive local growth

Labour is developing policies on providing “bespoke” support to “ensure that universities can be engines of local growth”, shadow science minister Chi Onwurah has said.

Speaking at the Labour Party conference on 8 October, Onwurah said her party was looking at how to build on existing strengths of different areas and have “specific policies and specific support to help to turbocharge growth in that region”.
