Labour conference: Peter Kyle says regulation of emerging technologies should support “freedom to innovate”
Shadow science secretary Peter Kyle has said a Labour government would take a “progressive” approach to the regulation of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Speaking at a fringe event at the Labour Party conference in Liverpool on 10 October, Kyle said he was looking at the regulatory and development framework for emerging technologies to see how government could “be a better partner” to the sector.
