MP takes science minister job following departure of George Freeman and Paul Scully in reshuffle

Andrew Griffith has promised to “unleash capital” to support UK research, as he becomes science minister following the departure of George Freeman.

The MP for Arundel and South Downs said he was “delighted to accept the role of minister of state for science, research and innovation”, after Freeman announced he was stepping down “with a heavy heart…to focus on my health, family wellbeing and life beyond the front bench”.
