Treasury launches West Yorkshire life sciences investment zone

UK government also pledges £4.5 billion for manufacturing, including £520 million for life sciences

The UK government has launched its third investment zone in West Yorkshire, ahead of the chancellor announcing an extension of the scheme that will provide investment and tax relief for different regions.

The West Yorkshire life science investment zone will focus around Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield universities, and see health tech and digital sites revamped. This is the third of 12 investment zones that have been announced and are intended to boost the economy.
