
Research community welcomes backup plan but urges government to “stay the course” with Horizon
The R&D sector has cautiously welcomed the UK government’s proposals for an alternative to joining Horizon Europe—while maintaining that association to the EU programme is still the “best outcome”.
Last week the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology unveiled the blueprint for the £14.6 billion Pioneer programme, which is to be used if participation in the €95.5 billion (£84bn) EU R&D programme is not secured.
