Ministers unveil plan for UK global health research leadership

             

£39 million in R&D funding for antimicrobial resistance announced, alongside promise of further research investment

The government has announced a policy framework for global health, including ambitions to maintain UK research leadership and increase international capacity for tackling health threats.

The Global Health Framework was unveiled by health minister Will Quince at the World Health Assembly on 22 May, where the government also announced £39 million for R&D on antimicrobial resistance.
