Party is polling strongly but researchers are in the dark over its approach to funding

The R&D sector has called for clarity on Labour’s R&D policies as the party holds on firmly to its position as favourite to win the next general election.

Following Labour’s wins in local elections earlier this month—when it became the largest party in local government for the first time since 2002—many pollsters believe Keir Starmer will become the next prime minister.
