UK government seeks input on engineering biology plans

Call for evidence comes as engineering biology firms meet with science secretary in Downing Street

The UK government is seeking evidence from the engineering biology sector to help shape the development of its policies in the area.

Engineering biology—which enables the construction of new or redesigned biological systems, such as cells or proteins—was identified as a key technology in the government’s March plan for the UK to become a science and technology superpower by 2030.
