Research leaders warn of serious repercussions if UK fails to finalise association to EU programme

Research leaders have renewed calls for the UK government to put an end to years of uncertainty and get a Horizon Europe deal “over the line”, as negotiations threaten to drag into the autumn. 

UK association to the EU’s R&D programme has been on hold for over two-and-a-half years, leaving UK researchers unable to directly access funding. Instead, they must apply for back-up funding from the UK government.
