Head of business lobby group criticises silence from main parties on environmental action

The Confederation of British Industry has set out a five-point plan for economic growth based on environmentally sustainable policies.

In a speech today, Rain Newton-Smith, chief executive of the employers’ organisation, has urged the government that will emerge after the general election on Thursday to show greater confidence in public acceptability of a green agenda.
