Northern Ireland needs to do more on agri-food

The government in Northern Ireland should increase its spending on R&D in agriculture and food, and do more to encourage students into the field, assembly members have said.

The government “needs to raise the level of investment in research and development at every step of the supply chain”, said Séan Rogers, Social Democratic and Labour Party member for South Down, in a debate on agri-food held on 25 February.
