The information consultants Kingsley Manning and Max Jones have been summoned by the House of Commons Health Committee to give evidence as part of its inquiry into the handling of patient data.
Manning is the chairman of the Health and Social Care Information Centre and Jones is the director of Information and Data Services at the same centre.
The initial health committee inquiry, which was launched on 25 February, specifically took evidence on the proposed care.data initiative. It will now continue as part of a more general inquiry, called The Handling of NHS Patient Data.
