The Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and the British Medical Journal are among three organisations behind a proposal to create an all-party parliamentary group in bioscience and technology.
A press release from the Sanger Institute says that the group would aim to help politicians to understand and realise the health benefits of UK investment in science and technology, by identifying potentially transformative developments and addressing critical barriers to their use.
“This will include overview of the science and expert perspectives, alongside consideration of economic, logistical, ethical, legal and social factors and other policy issues,” the institute said.
