MPs to consider Defra’s performance

Environment secretary Liz Truss will be quizzed on her department’s work at a one-off evidence session before the House of Commons Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee.

The hearing, scheduled for 26 January, will also hear from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs’ permanent secretary Clare Moriarty.

Topics to be discussed include flood recovery and the Common Agricultural Policy, as well as the work of the department’s agencies following the November spending review.
