The UK government needs to set out a clear long-term vision for its industrial strategy if it is to succeed, MPs have been told.
The House of Commons Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee invited nine representatives from companies, industry organisations, unions and academia to a lively roundtable discussion on 22 November to talk about the policies that the government should put in place as part of its industrial strategy.
The idea that attracted the largest support was that an industrial strategy would not work unless the government agreed to a well-defined vision, setting out long-term economic goals and metrics to assess progress.
