The UK government has brushed off criticism of its forensic science strategy contained in a House of Commons Science and Technology Committee report and has refused MPs' demands to revise the document.
In September 2016, the committee said in its final report on the forensic science strategy, that it was “vague and incomplete” and urged ministers to reconsider the policies.
However, a government response, published on 5 December, said that the strategy was not intended to be “a detailed action plan” but a vision for the future of forensic science delivery and its strategic direction.
