Brexit uncertainty already affecting UK science, MPs hear

A lack of clarity on the UK’s membership of European Union funding programmes, medicines regulations and EU citizens' rights post-Brexit is already having an effect on research in the UK, MPs have been told.

The House of Commons Brexit Committee held an evidence session at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute on 17 January, as part of the committee’s inquiry into the progress of the Brexit negotiations.

Michael Lawrence, business development director at the aerospace engineering company Deimos Space UK told the MPs anecdotal evidence suggesting uncertainty over whether the UK will remain part of the EU’s Galileo and Copernicus satellite systems was growing.
