Peer blames pandemic for diverting resources away from disease but pledges “ambitious” new dementia strategy
Health minister Syed Kamall has admitted that the government needs to “go further” to support dementia research, as he blamed the pandemic for diverting resources away from the government’s promised delivery of a “dementia moonshot”.
The minister’s admission comes amid growing pressure on the Conservative government to fulfil its 2019 manifesto pledge to double research spending on the disease.
