
Experts complain of lack of strategic thinking and little continuity of major research funding programmes
The UK lacks a long-term science and technology strategy to integrate various policies and provide cross-sectoral benefits to the economy, experts have told the House of Lords.
A session of the House Science and Technology Committee on 1 March also heard that there is a lack of continuity for flagship R&D programmes, and that this is one of the biggest sources of uncertainty for researchers and universities.
