Peer says UK would miss “biggest trick in R&D world” by not associating to programme
The UK government must go “further and faster” and finalise association to Horizon Europe, peers have said.
Speaking during a debate on a recent House of Lords Science and Technology Committee report, peers expressed concern over the lack of progress in associating to the EU research and innovation programme. UK participation in the scheme has stalled for over two years, initially due to a political dispute over trade in Northern Ireland and now seemingly over how much the UK has to pay, leaving UK grant winners unable to directly access funding.
