Conservatives assign familiar faces to science and education briefs

The Conservative Party has appointed ex-science minister Andrew Griffith as shadow science secretary, after his former boss in the department, Michelle Donelan, lost her seat at the election.

Meanwhile, Damian Hinds has been appointed shadow education secretary in Rishi Sunak’s interim shadow cabinet after Gillian Keegan, formerly education secretary, also lost her seat at the election.
