MSPs call for strict emissions reporting by public bodies

The Scottish parliament’s Rural Affairs, Climate Change and Environment Committee has written a letter in support of mandatory climate emissions reporting for publicly funded organisations.

The committee submitted an open letter to Aileen McLeod, minister for environment, land reform and climate change, on 17 May as part of a government consultation on the policy that is due to conclude at the end of May.

However, although the committee was supportive of the move, it also asked for more detail on how public bodies would be supported both financially and structurally, should the measure come into force.
