Scottish university museums told to enhance their governance

All university museums in Scotland should review and strengthen their governance to ensure that it is well embedded within their institution’s activities, the Scottish Funding Council has said.

This is one of the recommendations put forward by an independent panel, comprised of museum specialists, that has reviewed the SFC’s Museum, Galleries and Collections Grant.

The report on the mid-term review, published on 1 November, makes suggestions to the nine Scottish university museums that are recipients of the grant, for the remaining two years of the programme.
