Boyle to lead new-look Scottish Science Advisory Council

Paul Boyle, formerly chief executive of the Economic and Social Research Council, has been appointed to chair a “revitalised” Scottish Science Advisory Council.

Boyle, now vice-chancellor of the University of Leicester, has been named as one of seven academics to form a council to provide science advice to Scottish ministers.

Boyle is the only one of the seven not based in Scotland; with four from the University of Edinburgh and one each from the universities of Strathclyde and Glasgow.
