Manufacturing, financial technology and energy companies will be able to apply for an additional £45 million for R&D activities over the next three years, the Scottish government has said.
Nicola Sturgeon, the first minister, announced the funding during a visit to Spirit AeroSystems, an aircraft manufacturer, on 31 August.
Sturgeon also unveiled plans to establish a National Manufacturing Institute for Scotland. Its location and partners will be announced at the end of 2017, she said.
