The Welsh government’s campaign to bring science ‘megastars’ into the country has been officially launched.
The three previously announced Sêr Cymru—or Welsh star—networks, which are shared between Aberystwyth, Bangor, Cardiff and Swansea Universities, have received £21 million of the £50m budget for the scheme.
All four universities are involved in each of the three networks, but each has a nominated leading university, or universities, and directors. Each network has received £7m to recruit an international research star and a team of dedicated scientists.
