Scottish government to modernise national library

The Scottish government has said it will put forward a National Library of Scotland Bill to update the resource and respond to the “changing needs of its customers”.

NLS in Edinburgh is Scotland’s only legal deposit library and contains a collection of over 14 million pieces in more than 490 languages. Of these, over 1.5 million items are available online.
