Foresight, the government’s future scenarios unit, is to undertake a two-year project on the future of manufacturing, business secretary Vince Cable has announced.
Led by John Beddington, the government’s chief scientific adviser, the project will pinpoint global trends and opportunities to produce a long-term picture for the manufacturing sector until 2050.
