Government funding to drive low carbon cars

The transport minister, Philip Hammond, said the government has set aside more than £400 million to support measures promoting the uptake of low-carbon car technologies.

The measures include support for consumer incentives, the development of recharging infrastructure for electric vehicles and a programme or research, development and demonstration work, he told Jo Swinson, Lib Dem MP for East Dunbartonshire in oral questions in the Commons on 23 June.
