Group aims to cut £300m-a-year medicine waste

The health minister, Frederick Curzon, has launched a group to improve medicine use and cut wastage.

A government-commissioned report, “Evaluation of the scale, causes and costs of waste medicines”, published on 8 August, estimates that medicine wastage amounts to £300 million per year—of which at least half could be avoided, it says.
