Labour calls for ‘science-led approach’ to badgers

Labour has launched a campaign against the government’s proposed badger cull, arguing that it is not based on scientific evidence.

The “Can the Cull” campaign opposes the government’s decision to allow farmers to kill badgers in a bid to halt the spread of bovine tuberculosis. It says the policy is “against both the scientific evidence and the weight of public opinion”.
