Green light for Holyhead biomass plant

The Department of Energy and Climate Change has given the go-ahead to Anglesey Aluminium Metal Renewables for a biomass-fuelled power station at Penrhos Works, Holyhead, Anglesey.

The plant will generate 299 megawatt, enough to power around 300,000 homes, said a DECC statement.
