Defra to publish ash dieback action plan

The UK government is to publish a strategy to tackle ash dieback disease on 9 November.

The plan will draw on recommendations made at a meeting at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on 7 November. Scientists were among around 100 people who provided advice on the health of trees to environment secretary Owen Paterson and Defra staff. Representatives from campaign groups, charities and government agencies also attended.
