Policymakers not using science to best effect to tackle disasters

A report from Foresight, the UK government’s future scenarios unit, has called on policymakers to make better use of science when addressing natural disasters in developing countries.

The Reducing Risks of Future Disasters report advises decision makers to make better use of existing risk assessment methods and ongoing technological developments to reduce the threat of future natural disasters.
