UK and Japan to team up on space research

Science and universities minister David Willetts is to sign an agreement with the Japanese Economy Minister Motohisa Furukawa for improved collaboration on space research and technology.

This will include working together on Earth observation technology, such as the Disaster Monitoring Constellation run by Surrey Satellite Technology Limited. The countries will also identify “potential commercial opportunities” in the area.
