Supporting long-term scientific research in key technologies will generate prosperity and jobs, according to science and universities minister David Willetts.
Speaking at a conference organised by Conservative campaign group Bright Blue on 28 July, he said that the government has a “positive role” to play in encouraging investment in new technologies.
