Badger appeal gets go ahead, but not out of the woods yet

The Badger Trust has been given the right to appeal a High Court decision in favour of allowing badger culling in England.

The trust’s first attempt to quash the government’s plan to introduce culling was rejected by the court. However, John Laws, lord justice of appeal, has now ruled that the government unlawfully used licensing powers granted by a section of the Protection of Badgers Act to back up its plans.
