The strength of UK science and technology relies heavily on the insurance sector and vice versa, science minister David Willetts has written.
Contributing an essay to a report published by the Chartered Insurance Institute, Willetts noted that scientists are recording and studying more natural disasters than ever before, adding: “When a catastrophe happens, the insurance industry is only a few steps behind the emergency responders.” The report is the fourth in a series published to celebrate the CII centenary.
