Space projects will help social development, says Willetts

Science minister David Willetts has provided more detail about the UK government’s £80-million fund for space research collaboration with other countries.

The five-year Global Collaborative Space Programme will focus on using space research to aid social and economic development, according to Willetts.

The fund was announced by Chancellor George Osborne in his autumn statement delivered to parliament on 5 December.
