The UK government has launched a consultation to find out if European Union policies help or hinder work on the environment and climate change.
The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and the Department of Energy and Climate Change opened the 12-week consultation on 20 May.
They are asking for opinions on the impact of EU policies on the UK. Questions will include how far the UK could benefit from the EU taking more or less action on these issues, and whether EU legislation provides the correct balance between protecting the environment and wider UK economic interest.
