The Cabinet Office’s Behavioural Insights Team is to be spun out from the government by acquiring a commercial partner, the Cabinet Office has announced.
A statement by the office on 1 May said that the move had been “employee-led”, with staff on the team driving the process.
“As a joint venture, the new business will be a collaboration between the government, the employees and a third-party partner, which will bring additional commercial capability and investment,” the statement said. “The government, and ultimately the taxpayer, will benefit from growth in the business.”
