A UN-commissioned panel has put forward 12 targets for ending extreme poverty by 2030.
The goals were selected by the international panel, co-chaired by Prime Minister David Cameron, after being asked by the UN’s secretary-general Ban Ki-moon to examine how to reduce global poverty.
The 12 goals, which include ensuring food security, securing sustainable energy and managing natural resources, will follow on from the Millennium Development Goals, which expire in 2015.
