Your chance to influence UK marine monitoring

Views on marine monitoring are being sought from interested parties in all the UK nations to inform the UK’s response to the European Union's Marine Strategy Framework Directive.

The proposed monitoring programmes are intended to measure the UK’s progress towards achieving “Good Environmental Status” in its seas by 2020. Marine scientists are also hoping that the data will be useful for future research projects.

Comment is sought by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Northern Ireland Executive and the Scottish and Welsh governments from anyone with an interest in how the sea is used. Interested parties can respond in writing, by email or via an online survey.
