Hauser to review Catapult centres

Technology entrepreneur Hermann Hauser is to lead an independent review of the Catapult centres, the UK government has announced.

In 2010, Hauser wrote a report that recommended that the government create a network of technology innovation centres—which eventually became the catapults—to improve the UK’s innovation landscape. The review team will hold events over the coming months. They will look at how the network can be fully exploited to benefit the economy in the long term.

Business secretary Vince Cable and science minister David Willetts commissioned the review, which was announced on 13 March at the official opening of the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult’s offices in Edinburgh.
