NPL and Birmingham plan more collaboration

The National Physical Laboratory and the University of Birmingham have signed a memorandum of understanding to provide a platform for more joint research programmes.

The institutes will collaborate on research, translation, knowledge transfer and appointments, they announced on 26 February. The collaboration will focus on areas of mutual interest, including radioactivity, advanced manufacturing and sensors.

The two already collaborate on quantum technology, which will continue to be part of their joint working.
