The public company behind the 100,000 Genomes Project, Genomics England, has selected five small businesses to enter the project development stage of its Enabling Technologies for Genomics Sequence Data Analysis and Interpretation competition.
The competition, a Small Business Research Initiative, sought to identify companies that could further develop genomic sequence data analysis capabilities. The companies will receive a share of the £8-million budget available for their 12 to 24-month product development programmes.
The successful firms are Congenica, Genomics Ltd, Omixon UK Ltd, Oxford Gene Technology and Seven Bridges Genomics UK Ltd.
