The Office for National Statistics has announced changes to its leadership structure, which will see two additional directors-general join the existing DG under the national statistician.
Heather Savory, chairwoman of the Open Data User Group, which helps the government understand the requirements of users of its data, has been appointed director-general for data capability. She will take up her post in April.
Jonathan Athow, chief economist and director of knowledge, analysis and intelligence at HM Revenue and Customs, will become director-general for economic statistics, a role he will take on after the general election.
