The Intellectual Property Office has said that it will revise the Lambert toolkit of model agreements for academic-industry engagement to focus on small businesses.

In its five year strategy, published on 21 January, the IPO said that it would also be working with local business support networks to encourage collaborative IP projects with universities.

Beyond research collaborations, the office said that it was an issue for higher and further education to ensure that businesses could find employees who understand IP, and suggested that courses should be changed to make this more of a priority.
